Research Scholar from Central University of Jharkhand Wins Best Presenter Award at National Symposium

Ranchi, Jharkhand: Ms. Zaira Khalid, Research Scholar (CSIR-SRF) from the Department of Environmental Science at Central University of Jharkhand, was honored with the Best Presenter Award for her outstanding oral presentation during the National Symposium and Expo on Sustainable Mining and Ecological Restoration held at Indian Institute of Coal Management.

The symposium was organized by Vijnana Bharati in association with the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, CSIR-Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research, and Central University of Jharkhand at Indian Institute of Coal Management, Ranchi, Jharkhand from 10-12 May, 2026.

Ms. Khalid received the award for her research paper titled “Assessing Phytofiltration of Taxiphyllum barbieri Under Prolonged Heavy Metal Exposure.” The award was presented by Shri Sanjay Seth, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence, Government of India.

Her achievement reflects the growing research excellence and academic contribution of the Department of Environmental Science in the field of sustainable environmental management and ecological restoration.
