  • Brief intro : Prof. A. C. Pandey is Professor since 2013, in the Department of Geoinformatics, Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), Ranchi. He previously served as Associate Professor (Remote Sensing) in Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, for a decade and as Scientist in Department of Science & Technology, GoH, Chandigarh, for seven years. He acquired Ph.D. degree in Geology from Department of Geology, University of Delhi in 2001. He has been working in diverse areas of Geoinformatics Applications in Earth Sciences viz., Water Resources, Glaciology, Natural hazards, Urban Environment, Forest & Wildlife etc. He has 09 Ph.D. and 40 M.Tech/M.Sc. thesis completed under his guidance. He has 09 Ph.D. and 50 M.Tech/M.Sc. thesis completed under his guidance. He has more than 90 publications in refereed international/national journals/Book Chapters and 02 edited books to his credit. He is recipient of NASA-SERVIR Fellowship in 2013 to work on Himalayan glaciers in Zanskar Valley, J&K. He was associated with many national projects as PI and Co-PI from ISRO, CGWB, DST and MoEF on aspects of Himalayan Glacier Study, Kosi Flood, Arsenic contamination, NUIS, Groundwater Targeting etc. His present research work focuses on water resources, forest fire, Himalayan cryosphere, Coastal studies, Flood Disaster in Gangetic Plains & Kashmir Valley, Drought vulnerability in Bihar and Jharkhand State and Gangetic Plain etc. He is currently involved as PI and Co-PI in various R & D projects funded by Space Application Centre (SAC), ISRO related with Airborne Hyperspectral Sensing (AVIRIS-NG) for vegetation monitoring and NASA-ISRO, NISAR for flood monitoring and Base metal Mineralization and GISAT for Forest bio-physical and bio-chemical parameter assessment.

  • Brief intro : Dr. Amit Kumar has been involved in interdisciplinary research with focus on man-environment interactions, disaster risk and resilience, and climate change implications primarily in the urban milieu for last 12 years. His thrust areas of research are to improve urban ecology through physio-socio-economic-hazard-risk investigations and methods to augment ecological quality using geoinformatics and machine learning techniques. He is engaged with various R&D projects including state-of-the-art NASA-ISRO SAR (NISAR), GISAT and Airborne Hyperspectral Sensing (AVIRIS-NG) missions for vegetation monitoring as well as DBT sponsored mapping and quantitative assessment of Plant resources of Central India. Presently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geoinformatics, Central University of Jharkhand, India and published various research articles in various journals and books of international and national repute. He is a member of various academic societies including IUCN-Commission on Ecosystem management (South Asia), National Association of Geographer, Indian (NAGI), International Society of Environmental Botanists (ISEB- Lucknow), and Global Forest Biodiversity Initiatives (GFBI)- USA.

  • Brief intro : Dr. (Er.) Kiran Jalem is a Disaster Management Professional having 22 plus years of experience, which includes Industrial, Scientific, Research, Engineering, Teaching & Training etc. As an Assistant Professor with Shri Krishna Institute of Public Administration (SKIPA), Ranchi, Govt. of Jharkhand under the Non Plan Scheme of Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, he had conducted several Training Programs on Disaster Management at SKIPA, Ranchi in collaboration with NIDM, NDMA, MHA, Govt. of India and Govt. of Jharkhand. Also, worked abroad for a year in Gulf, Middle East, Dubai, UAE in Oil Sector.
