Workshop on Health Journalism

To equip the media students with reporting skills on health-related issues, a Two-day Workshop on Health Journalism was organized from 04-05 August 2023 by the Department of Mass Communication. This intensive workshop focused on reporting on Lymphatic Filariasis and was supported by the World Health Organisation (WHO), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR), pci India, Clinton Health Access Initiative, and Global Health Strategies. Mr. Madhukar, Senior Journalist, Ranchi, Mr. Raj Kamal Chaudhury, Editor, Zee News Channel, Bihar and Jharkhand, Ms. Shivani Pandey, Documentary Maker and Writer, Dr Abhishekh Paul, WHO, Mr Ranvijay Kumar and Ms Neha, Patient Network Representative, CFAR, Ms. Rajshree Das, Project Concern International, India. Dr Bhupendra Tripathi, Gates Foundation, India were the resource persons. On the second day, participants were assigned to write a story on Lymphatic Filariasis. Afterwards, a panel of judges awarded three students with first, second and third prizes.
