The Department of Mathematics, formerly known as Centre for Applied Mathematics was established in July 2009 under the School of Natural Sciences. The department started offering the Integrated M.Sc. Program in Applied Mathematics from academic session 2009-10. The Ph.D. degree in Mathematics has been started from the academic session 2013-2014. Further two years M.Sc. program has started from the academic session 2017-2018. There are seven regular and highly motivated, devoted and deserving faculty members with ample experience of teaching and research. The faculty members have a total 65 research papers published in reputed national and international journals. The faculty members of the department used to teach the students of other departments like the department of Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Nanotechnology, Water Engineering and Management, Computer Sciences and Technology, Energy Engineering, Land Resource Management, Environmental Sciences etc.

• * Running special classes for preparation of entrance examinations such as CSIR/GATE/NBHM etc.
• * Interactive session /doubt clearing session between faculty and students will be held on the last day of every week.
• * Mentors are assigned to each student to boost up their learning and research ability.
• * Weekly special lectures for extraordinary areas of Mathematics.
• * The syllabus and course structure of the programme of the department has been developed by well-known mathematicians of the country based on research development as well as employability. After completion of the post-graduate program, the students of the Department of Mathematics are expected to acquire the ability to clear all the competitive examinations for advanced studies, research, and jobs.

• * Higher studies in National and International Institutes of repute.
• * May go for jobs in Government or Private sectors.
• * Having capability of self-employability and Entrepreneurship.
