Two Year B.Ed. Programme
The Two-Year B.Ed. programme is an on-campus B.Ed. programme started in the department from the session 2015-2016 with an intake of two units (100). The programme admits the students from both art stream and science stream. The programme mainly intends to create the secondary school level teachers with strong professional orientation. The programme aims to prepare reflective teachers who can serve for the betterment of society with utmost dedication and sincerity. The programme is offered under credit framework. Organizations of intensive field work/internship practice is a special feature of the programme. Life skill-based courses are meaningfully embedded in the programme for facilitating life skill of the perspective teachers who can cope up with the challenges, changes and advancements in education in present era. After completing the programme, one can also become eligible to pursue higher study and research in education. |
Four Year Integrated B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. Programme
Four Year Integrated B.A.B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. programme is a regular on-campus programme started in the department in the year 2013-2014 with an intake of two units (50+50). The programme provides the deep understanding in the respective content area (B.A./B.Sc.) along with education among the candidates who pursue the programme. The programme is designed to provide integrated knowledge, values and skills to the students to become efficient, skillful and empathetic teachers especially at secondary school level. The programme also opens up the avenue for higher study and research in the areas of arts/ science and education. |
PhD Programme
The PhD in Education programme started in the department in 2018-2019 session. The department follows stringent criteria to admit the candidates for the programme. The student work in the area of their choice in consonance to the thrust area/specialization of the teachers and/or department. The programme encourages the candidates for creative and innovative thinking in the area of their research work. The ultimate goal of the programme is to bring a kind of substantive change/improvement in different directions of education. The programme mainly prepares the candidates to carry out advance researches, join as faculty members in higher education institution/industry, work in academic institution/industry as a researcher, provide consultancy in research and so on. |
